SLEEP: THE MIRACLE BLANKET
My first one did NOT sleep and after a couple of weeks of operating on fumes, we wrapped little boy in this MIRACLE BLANKET, and little dude gave us 4 hours STRAIGHT!
SCHLEP: PHIL AND TED’S DOUBLE STROLLER
Having two very active little boys at less than 24 months apart was a challenge to say the least. This stroller made navigating Brooklyn on foot with two kids, two dogs and groceries manageable. Yes it is a bit pricey but this lasted us for years… actually we still have it. It also stores pretty neatly for those living in small city apartments where space is limited. another option would be the Citi Mini which my friends swear by.
SH*T: CHARLIE’S SOAP
I found myself doing laundry every other day and still ended up with semi-clean clothes. My second one was sensitive to harsh soaps, but I couldn’t find one that was green certified, safe for sensitive skin, and got the job done properly. Those little ones know how to smear food and diaper stains everywhere. I swear by this. It’s a bit pricey but you literally only have to use 1 tablespoon full for a load.
SUN: ADEN + ANAIS SWADDLE
I ended up not using these as a swaddle but they are perfect for sunny days, to shelter the babe from the harsh sun but breathable enough not to suffocate them. They work well as a cover when breastfeeding if you want to be somewhat inconspicuous.
SANITY: HAPPIEST BABY ON THE BLOCK
Honestly though, if you can snag one for free, do it. But if you like yours crisp and not covered with mommy tears and baby vomit, get one. A little hint, everything you need to know is pretty much in the first chapter.
SORES: DIAPER CHANGES
Unless your little one has a yeast infection (then in that case use Triple Paste and Lotrimin AF), Triple Paste has been the best at curing the worst diaper rash (I’m talking blisters, open sores). We saw a marked difference in a day.
SUSTENACE: HEALTHFUL ON THE GO FOODS
Because I was a neurotic new parent and everything had to be organic for my kids. I’ve calmed down since then but they loved these products.
SoManyMEMORIES (ok that didn’t work): ALBUMS
OK, OK, it took me about 4 years to make a baby book. I squeezed photos of our wedding/elopement, 1st dog, 2nd dog, 1st child and 2nd child in one. Thankfully the kids are at an age where they still enjoy looking at photos of themselves when they were babies so… phew! Here are some photo book printers I have used in the past:
